Join the Society for the History of Alchemy and ChemistryBenefits of MembershipThe Society for the History of Alchemy and Chemistry has a long-standing tradition in the field, organising colloquia, publications and promoting the interdisciplinary study of the field from its early beginnings to the present. The Society offers support to its members, including occasional lectures and the Partington prize for original academic writing on any aspect of the history of alchemy and chemistry. It offers a forum for advertising forthcoming events, both within the United Kingdom and internationally and its website provides a portal to resources related to the history of alchemy and chemistry. The Society arranges regular events and meetings and maintains contacts with other institutions such as The Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia. Members also receive the Society’s journal Ambix which is published by Maney Publishing and appears three times a year. Ambix is one of the leading scholarly journals in the field, publishing articles and book reviews which provide an incomparable overview of work in the literature, history, art, philosophy, cultural and religious history of the era.
